"Content is king" and content marketing remains the most earnest, rewarding and brand-enhancing approach to the age-old art of promotion. We firmly believe that, for us to be credible event organizers and industry connectors, we need to know our field intimately and should provide high-value content to our network. Email marketing is a key instrument for keeping our readers updated and distributing our content and event updates. To up our game in that area, we are looking for an enthusiastic, driven and clever Email Marketeer (32-40 hours per week) who can reinforce our team, and support the current Email Specialist and Content Manager. 


Who we are

Solarplaza organizes high-level events - focused on solar photovoltaics and related renewable energy topics - in both established and emerging solar energy markets across the globe. With a track record of 130+ events and a network that truly spans the entire world, our mission is to positively impact the world by accelerating the renewable energy transition by facilitating knowledge-sharing at our events and through our content.

Where you come in

Throughout the year, we keep our global readership updated on the latest developments and trends in the international solar energy industry and the renewable energy space as a whole. Email marketing is an essential tool for the distribution of industry news, informational resources and event updates to our growing database. 

Currently, we operate seven newsletters, which range from daily solar industry news updates to monthly regional (solar in Africa or Asia) and topical updates (Energy Grid innovations). In the role of Email Marketeer, you will help with collecting the content for those newsletters and will design, build and style the various newsletters, as well as test ideas, do occasional editing, and send them out to our database of nearly 60,000 readers from Seattle to Sydney.

Ultimately, you will produce engaging, high-quality content that speaks to our audience and boosts engagement with our brand. 


What you'll be doing

  • Building and sending out Solarplaza’s (daily, weekly and monthly) newsletters
  • As part of our marketing & design team, you will work on optimizing  our existing newsletter lineup and make improvements to our newsletter practices as a whole
  • Managing the editorial newsletter calendar, coordinate in-house and partner content for inclusion, and ensure timely publication
  • Generating new ideas around industry-related topics
  • Gradually taking over some of the event-related email campaigns
  • Making strategic decisions, informed by analytics

What background we're looking for

  • Graduated Bachelor or Master in Marketing, Communications, Multimedia, Design, PR or a similar/related field 
  • Experience with Email Marketing in another position, internship, project, etc.
  • Basic knowledge of HTML/CSS
  • Experienced Excel / Google sheets user
  • Flawless in the English language, other languages are a plus

Organizing solar energy events all around the world is our focus, ranging from established conferences in Europe, Asia and America, to pioneering conferences and exploratory trade missions in emerging markets. Our track record contains over 130 events, in over 25 different countries on 6 continents.
